Lyon Saint-Exupery International Airport formerly known as Lyon Satolas Airport, is located at Colombier-Saugnieu, 12 miles to the east of Lyon. The airport is named after pilot and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery who was a native of Lyon. UK airlines flying into Lyon Saint-Exupery include British Airways (London-Heathrow) and bmi (Manchester). The airport has two terminals and handles approximately 6,000,000 passengers a year making it one of France's busiest airports.
Road connections with Lyon are good and the airport is ideally suited for visiting Rhône-Alpes region and the nearby towns of Grenobles, Chambery and Saint - Etienne amongst others.
Hertz Car Rental - the Car Rental Area is on the outskirts of the Airport so when returning your Hertz hire car allow at least 20 minutes to get to the Airport Terminals. Hertz customers may use the courtesy shuttle buses which travel between Terminal 2 and the Car Rental Area every 6 minutes.
